Events 2.0: Crafting an Epic Event Experience in Zooba
Zooba, a popular MOBA game with over 100M downloads on iOS and Android, faced two critical challenges:
1. The need for new features after 5+ years of development
2. UI revamp to compete with industry leaders, all while preserving its established art direction and app size.
These challenges raised concerns about decreasing player engagement and revenue.

Events Revamp
Events are limited-time challenges with special challenges and rewards. The Events revamp aimed to increase engagement and revenue by refining event details, enhancing UI visuals, and introducing key gameplay moments to create a better player experience while improving the game performance.
In this feature, I was also responsible for directing the motion design, aiming to strike a balance between 'coolness' and efficiency, in line with the product goals.
The Events revamp strategically introduced key moments into gameplay, presenting dynamic challenges and opportunities tied to ongoing events. These additions improved the player experience by adding excitement and depth while optimizing game performance for smooth transitions between regular play and event highlights.

GAME MODE - Includes an exclusive event match mode
EVENTS POP-UP – Displays the main rewards for the special event.
Outcomes
The Events feature provided a meaningful boost to the game, leading to a 3% increase in revenue and extending session times by an impressive 10%. This achievement highlights the value of well-crafted event design in driving both engagement and monetization, while also making a significant contribution to the game's overall KPI success.
